Scorpions                    February Newsletter            Cougars

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take

-- Wayne Gretzky

As you know February has been a busy month. The Year-End-Tournament (YET) is a program that was created as a For Fun event.  All House teams will follow a standard that does not include points per win or loss. It is an opportunity for kids to just go out and play with the expectation of having fun over winning and losing.  This is USA Hockey's prime goal for youth players who are developing through the stages of becoming well-rounded individuals.  The High School YETs will be point based.

Once the YET is completed by your team, practices will cease. Know that for those of you that have follow on tournaments after your YET, regular practices will still cease at the completion of your YET.

Don't forget to use Amazon Smile for your Amazon purchases! This benefit lasts until you change your charity.

Enjoy the rest of the month.

Player of the Month

High School:
Josh Garcia

If there is one thing that any coach appreciates, it is an athlete that is coachable. Someone who executes the plan, someone who is committed and puts the team first, someone who is tough mentally and physically, and someone who shows work ethic on the ice, at community events and especially in school. Xxxxx has all of these attributes and more. Getting injured didn't stop him from getting right back out there to help his team out. Congratulations!

Zach Aragon

As a Mite coach, it isn't always the ability that is impressive, but the willingness to learn and improve. Xxxxx does this every time they are on the ice.  His potential to learn is phenomenal. Character and discipline are great attributes but taking ownership of mistakes and working to improve them shows perseverance. Leading by example always helps the team excel and develop. Congratulations!
